The role

We are seeking a Senior R&D Project Manager with expertise in carbon capture, hydrogen, industrial electrification, and/or catalytic processes to join our Decarbonisation of Industrial Processes team. This position focuses on the management of innovation projects, involving collaboration with international partners, interaction with clients, and attendance at dissemination events.

 Main functions
  • Provide technical support in the areas of carbon capture, hydrogen production and storage, industrial electrification, catalytic processes, and/or heat pumps, ensuring the quality and applicability of proposed solutions.
  • Work technically in European and national innovation projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
  • Conduct techno-economic and market analyses to assess the feasibility and potential impact of innovation projects.
  • Engage directly with clients, understanding their needs and proposing tailored solutions to industrial challenges.
  • Represent CIRCE in international consortia and at dissemination events, fostering relationships with partners and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present results in clear and professional technical reports and presentations.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning of the team.
  • Collaborate with CIRCE team members across various specialties.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients and project partners, ensuring effective communication and alignment.
Main Requirements
  • Industrial/Chemical/Energy Engineer bachelor’s degree or similar studies required
  • Proficient in English, at least C1 level or equivalent
  • Experience in customer engagement and relationship management
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar position working for international projects
  • Familiarity with industrial processes and sustainability challenges
Desirable to have
  • Master's degree or higher in Industrial Processes or a related field
  • Experience in market research and economic evaluations for innovation projects
  • Scientific contributions (e.g., publications, conferences)
  • Participation in European or international project consortia
  • Previous experience in energy-intensive industries (refining, cement…)
