The role
We are seeking an R&D Engineer specializing in carbon capture, hydrogen, industrial electrification, and/or catalytic processes to join our Industrial Processes team. This group works on European and national projects, as well as private industrial initiatives.

 Main functions
  • Advice and promote technical solutions under real production conditions through monitoring and assessing complex industrial processes
  • Performing analysis on energy and air emissions (including mass and energy balances).
  • Preparing and presenting project results in PowerPoint and technical reports.
  • Ensuring your projects adhere to scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
  • Working together with CIRCE team members across different specialties and regions.
  • Develop and maintain solid, lasting relationships with clients.
  • Travel will be required as necessary on a project-by-project basis (up to 10% of time).
 Main Requirements
  • Industrial/Chemical/Energy Engineer bachelor’s degree or similar studies required
  • Proficient in English, at least B2 level or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of carbon capture, hydrogen processes, industrial electrification, and/or catalytic processes.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar position working for international projects
  • Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., Aspen Plus, Matlab, Modelica) and energy-intensive systems such as heat pumps.
Desirable to have
  • Experience in customer engagement, including identifying needs and proposing tailored solutions to industrial challenges.
  • Simulation experience of chemical process (ASPEN Plus, HYSYS…)
  • Scientific production (papers, congress)
  • Msc Industrial Processes
  • Previous experience in energy-intensive industries (refining, cement…)

  • Quantitative or technical background with an excellent aptitude for analytical thinking.
  • Curiosity and the ability to research, design solutions, and translate findings into business practices.
  • Able to simultaneously work on multiple assignments and to work both independently as well as on large multidisciplinary teams.
